How Did We Get Here?

Do you know what I like about photos the most? It is a language. No matter what niche of photography it is. It immerses you in understanding.

As of December 2022, I have been doing photography exclusively for 2.5 years. It has been a crazy experience but I have learned the biggest lessons because of it.

Purpose.

Consistency.

Success.

Patience.

———————————————————————————————–

I remember being 18 and a freshman at Morehouse (2018-2019). A time before I even picked up my first camera.

Broke as hell.

I was inspired by the culture of Atlanta and the fresh talent of everyone that I was meeting. New city. New school. New people around me all the time. This is a perfect time to start over and try something new.

Even though I have never even thought about photography, I maxed out my first-ever credit card for my 19th birthday and chose to trust myself. (July 2019)

There were no photography classes at my school. No one was around to teach me. Just me, a Lumix, and now a credit card with a $1,000 balance. Still broke as hell. This pushed me even in my earliest weeks with this camera to create, network, and teach myself all about cameras.

Looking back, it was so irresponsible and impulsive.  It was one of the best decisions I have ever made…

Ciao.
